Tariq Hassan

Tariq Hassan is responsible for global brand strategy and worldwide marketing communications activities for HP’s Imaging and Printing Group. In this role, he leads planning and execution of global and regional level communication platforms across the portfolio, overseeing digital marketing, advertising, public and industry analyst relations, marketing promotions, sponsorships and brand identity.
Hassan, who joined HP in June 2008, brings to IPG nearly 20 years of experience in global brand marketing, integrated marketing communications, market research and strategic brand planning. He has worked across diverse categories, customer segments and international markets helping build some the world’s most notable brands ranging from Cadillac, Hoover, Morgan Stanley and Lowe’s, to leading packaged goods including P&G, Frito Lay, Gatorade and Quaker Oats. He is a true global marketer, having managed GM’s advertising for the Middle East, led global brand positioning and marketing platforms across matrix global organizations and participated in global and emerging-market campaign development for more than a dozen Fortune 500 businesses. Lastly, he has passion for and knows how to bring people together across diverse markets and businesses to deliver great marketing and communications programs.
Previously, he served as the senior vice president and director of Strategy and Account Planning at Element79, a communications company which he was a founding partner in 2001. Tariq began his career with D’Arcy Worldwide, progressing through domestic and international assignments before joining Leo Burnett and eventually FCB Worldwide Communications in increasingly broader, more complex global executive roles.
Tariq holds a Master’s of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University and Bachelor of Arts from University of Western Ontario, where he graduated with honors. Born in Ohio, raised in Ontario, Canada, Mr. Hassan currently lives in Chicago with his wife and daughter.
